BBTV appoints new member of C-Suite board of directors and strategic positions

New appointment to BBTV’s board of directors

The Company is pleased to announce that Mr. Jean Kim was appointed to the Board of Directors as an independent director. John is an independent business consultant, investor and director of public and private companies and has extensive experience in the capital markets. He is passionate about helping entrepreneurs grow their businesses, especially in the areas of technology and healthcare, and currently advises several startups in Canada. Previously, John was an award-winning portfolio manager with a career spanning more than 20 years, managing mutual funds, hedge funds and private client assets across St. John’s Bay is a CFA charterholder and graduated from University of Toronto with a B.Sc. in Applied Mathematics. BBTV’s Board of Directors is now made up of 6 members, 5 of whom are independent.

Key Management Updates and Appointments:

BBTV’s Board of Directors has approved the promotions of Lewis Ball to the strategy director, Doug johnson the Head of Advertising Sales and Branded Entertainment, and Blake corbet to the director of business development.

Lewis Ball joined BBTV in 2007 as a third employee. He became Vice President of Operations of BBTV in 2013 and was subsequently appointed Vice President of Strategy in 2018. In his role as Director of Strategy, he is responsible for creating and leading the interactive division of BBTV, which publishes and operates the company’s wide range of mobile gaming applications; as well as content management solutions from BBTV which represent some of BBTV’s largest corporate clients such as the NBA, Sony Pictures and ViacomCBS. Lewis holds a bachelor’s degree in business management University of Warwick, UK

Doug johnson is responsible for overseeing BBTV’s Direct Advertising Sales business unit. Prior to BBTV, Doug ran his own consulting firm for five years, which provided senior executives with pragmatic and programmatic assessments for challenging strategic, operational and IT issues. Doug has held leadership roles at Electronic Arts and has successfully completed management courses for high-tech companies from Stanford University, and the mergers and acquisitions of the Wharton School of Business, University of Pennsylvania.

Blake corbet is an accomplished investment banker with over 25 years of experience in London, New York, Toronto and Vancouver. He began his banking career at Haywood Securities in 1990 as an investment banking analyst. This was followed by Solomon Brothers in London and New York, before returning to Canada in 1996 as Executive Director, Investment Banking Services where he spent eight years with CIBC World Markets in Toronto. Most recently, Blake was Managing Director and Co-Head of Investment Banking Services at PI Financial, where he carried out various financing and advisory transactions in the technology, telecommunications and healthcare industries.
