Kenneth C. Leonard Sr., 81, Altoona, passed away peacefully Friday night at the Guardian Altoona.

He was born in Altoona, the son of the late Clyde H. and Hattie L. (Dunn) Leonard. On September 11, 1959, he married his true love, former Connie Jo (Brubaker), and they lived over 53 years of marriage before Connie died on June 12, 2012.

Three children survive: Susan Conway-Miller (Robert Sr.), Randy Leonard (Bernadette), and Melanie Mallery, all of Altoona; 12 grandchildren: Kenneth III (Alex) and Kellen Leonard in South Carolina, Heather Beschler (Jonah), Amy Coombs (Tommy), Davy Mallery (Katy) and Jessica Mallery, all of Altoona, Cameron Conaway II (Maggie) in California, Courtney Slean (Ryan) of Pittsburgh, Holly, Alexis (Brandon) and Randi (Adam) Leonard and Taylor (Cory) Ellis, all of Altoona; and 13 great-grandchildren.

He was predeceased by his wife, Connie; one son, Kenneth Jr.; one brother, Ronnie; sisters: Mary Jane, JoAnn, Joyce and Helen; and a son-in-law, Dave.

Kenneth retired as a long distance truck driver. He spent time teaching himself to write the most beautiful calligraphy. He loved his Steelers and Penn State football. He adored his grandchildren and they adored him.

He took loving care of his wife for the last 10 years of her life.

Per Kenneth’s wishes, there will be no utilities.

If desired, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, a charity that was very near and dear to the hearts of Kenneth and Connie.

Arrangements are by Vincent J. Good FuneralParlor, 328 Fifth Ave., Altoona.
