Pak Army dominates senior national taekwondo championship

ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Army topped the medals and points table at the 15th Korea Ambassadors National Senior Taekwondo Championship held on Sunday at Shehbaz Sharif Sports Complex, Rawalpindi.

Pakistan Army won 29 golds, six silvers and one bronze with 859 points, while Wapda was second with 2 golds, 19 silvers and 11 bronzes with 490 points. Pakistan Air Force (PAF) placed third winning three silver and 17 bronze medals with 229 points.

The event was sponsored by Combasx Sports and the Korean Embassy. Teams from provinces, departments, services, Gilgit Baltistan, AJK and Islamabad participated in the extravaganza which will run until July 25.

In the Combined Senior Poomsae (Men and Women) category, Recognized Individual Male Under 20 Poomsae Ahmed Shahzad (Army) secured the top position while Arshad Usman (Islamabad), Ghulam Hussain (PAF) and Harris (Gilgit Baltistan) took the second, third and fourth positions, respectively.

In the Recognized Individual Under 20 Women’s Poomsae, Zeena Sheraz (Army) took first position while Sher Zaman (HEC), Omama (KP) and Unshira Ghori (Sindh) secured second, third and fourth positions respectively .

In Under 30 Individual Male Recognized Poomsae, Waseem Javed (Army) grabbed first position while Ali Fahad (PAF), Naseer (Gilgit-Baltistan) and Rajab Ayub (Wapda) took second, third and fourth place.

In the Poomsae recognized by women under 30, Flower Zaheer (Wapda) grabbed the first position while Naqash Hamdani (Army), Shafaq (KP) and Maria (PAF) came second, third respectively and fourth.

In the Men’s Individual Under 30 Creative Poomsae, Ahsan Ashraf (Army) took first position while Nabeel Qayyum (Wapda), Muhammad Ismail (Punjab) and Abdul Qayyum Malik (HEC) took second, third and fourth place.

In the Individual Creative Women’s Poomsae Under 30, Naila (Army) grabbed the top position while Flower Zaheer (Wapda), Omama (KP) and Zara (Sindh) took second, third and fourth respectively. positions.

In Under 50 Individual Male Recognized Poomsae, Irshad Ali (Army) secured the first position while Muhammad Khan (Wapda) and Saad Kashif (PAF) won the second and third positions respectively.

In Under 30 Pair Male Recognized Poomsae, Aqdas + Adil (Army) secured the first position while Wajeeh ul Hassan + Abdul Qayyum (KP), Naseer + Jameel (Gilgit-Baltistan) and Fahad + Ali Hassan (PAF) took the second, third and fourth positions, respectively.
